California-Legal AR-15

"Superior Quality"

Can just the LOWER RECEIVER be purchased?

NO.  CA-DOJ wants to see complete rifles sold, having made that specific request during their evaluation of our modification.

Also, we decided we would NOT sell Lower Receivers, even if we could.  There exists a little-known issue called the FEDERAL EXCISE TAX on manufactured rifles, which is 11%.  Combining an Upper Receiver onto a Lower Receiver is interpreted as manufacturing a complete rifle.  While there are nuances in this issue as pertains to Individuals, Manufacturers and Dealers, we order only NEW and COMPLETE RIFLES and PAY THE 11% EXCISE TAX.  We don't make more money by selling the complete rifle, which is fully tested.  We feel this is the proper way to provide these rifles and it eliminates the prospect of future visits to us and possibly YOU, by Federal Agents seeking EXCISE TAX revenue.

Are there other operations that convert new "Assault Weapons" to a California-Legal configuration?

We are a Southern California-based operation that obtains COMPLETE rifles and modifies them to 10-round FIXED capacity.  To our knowledge, we currently hold the only approval by the Department of Justice (CA-DOJ) in California, to modify factory-new and COMPLETE "Assault Weapons" in this manner.  The modification on these rifles is covered by (3) Patents, so it is unlikely this modification to existing "Assault Weapons" will be seen from other sources.

How long will it take to receive a California-Legal rifle?

We currently search many sources for rifles, but prefer to stick with a few suppliers.  COLT rifles seem to be the most sporadic, as they are the primary contractor for the U.S. Military.  Once the rifle is received by us, it usually takes 20-30 days to complete the modification process.

The Background Check and 10-Day waiting period applies to all purchases in California.  For direct sales, we usually initiate the DROS process at the beginning of the modification process, so the clock is "ticking" while the modification process is completed.  If you are going through a different FFL Dealer, we can advise them of the rifle's arrival and you can start your paperwork with them.  Terms with our supplier dictate that all rifle orders are PAID IN FULL, which we in turn, ask of our customers.

Will the California-Legal Rifle accomodate the new 6.8 REM. CARTRIDGE?

YES, "BUT".  Once ammunition becomes readily available for this cartridge, we plan to configure our feeding mechanism to accept it.  You can then purchase an Upper Receiver in 6.8 Rem.  Our Gunsmiths can tweak your feeding mechanism to handle the 6.8 Rem.

Where can I get INFORMATION and PRICING for configurations not shown?

If you don't see what you're looking for on the "MODELS & PRICES" Page, go to the "CONTACT US" page of this site and CALL or E-MAIL us.

Can I purchase ADDITIONAL "MAGAZINES" for the California-Legalrifle?

NO.  There are no magazines associated with this rifle.  Instead, there is a feeding mechanism inside the magazine well, which can hold a maximum of ten rounds.  You cannot buy additional feeding mechanisms, since this is covered by the 100% Lifetime Warranty.  If you have any problems at all, including a weakened spring, our gunsmith with fix or replace it at no cost to you.  Should this occur, your only responsibility is to get your rifle to their Orange County facility, via common carrier or by dropping it off.

Can I see the California-Legal rifles at any upcoming GUN SHOWS?

YES.  We will be at the "Crossroads of the West" Gun Shows in Southern California.
